F.A.33 mirror, design Gio Ponti, Gubi
Gio Ponti designed the F.A.33 mirror in 1933 for Fontana Arte that he founded together with Pietro Chiesa. Today the model is reissued by Gubi and is available in 2 sizes 54 x 80 cm and 70 x 146 cm. The curved mirror has clean lines and is a decorative highlight. The frame is made of glossy brass. F.A.33 is a beautiful example of Gio Ponti elegance and luxury.
Gio Ponti (1891 – 1979) is the father of Italian modernism, his style lies between tradition and modernity. He worked for several manufacturers (Fontana Arte, Fornasetti and Cassina), craftsmen and designers on decorative pieces of design, with luxurious materials like glass, ceramic, brass, precious wood, etc.
He is recognized as a true master of Italian elegance and good taste. As an architect, a designer and Domus editor in chief, his influence was tremendous and imprinted the history of mid-century design in Italy, but also worldwide.
