Desk 56, Arne Wahl Iversen, Vinde Møbelfabrik, 1961.
The desk nbr 56 is one of Arne Wahl Iversen’s rare icons. The Danish designer is not as well known as other Scandinavian Moderns, but since 2000 his furniture has found renewed popularity among vintage furniture lovers. Some high-end pieces, including the rare 56 desk, are now highly sought after by collectors and of great value.
Designed in 1961 by Arne Wahl Iversen for Vinde Møbelfabrik, the desk 56 is a great example of Danish design elegance. Its clean tapered legs silhouette is here complimented by the dark teak. The model mixes quality cabinetmaking and refined brass details.
The exemplar retains the manufacturer’s stamp and is in very good condition with patina and a small restoration on a drawer. As often on this model, the keys are missing.
