Crytsal carafe, Daum, Nancy, ca. 1970
The maison Daum is an early and well-known French crystal manufacture. Founded in 1878 by the brothers Daum in Nancy, Daum was a very influent glassmaker during the Art Nouveau movement. The company worked with famous artists like Majorelle or Dali and is part of the glass history besides Lalique, Baccarat and Murano glassmakers: Venini, etc.
The elegant crystal carafe is signed Daum Nancy. It is in very good condition but the top has chip, though it doesn’t impact its beauty or use and is offered at fair price. Height 44,5 cm
