Closet, André Sornay
The Sornay closet is probably one of the most popular piece of furniture “à tigettes” by the French designer.
The large cabinet has a mahogany frame with sliding doors black and cream enamelled. The black metal base has adjustable rubber feet. Originally designed to furnish student or workers rooms, the closet is very functional, it has a wardrobe, many drawers and a grid to place the shoes, and is fully dismountable.
Sornay’s items are no longer in production.
The French designer is well-known for his Art-Deco work, but his 50’s and 60’s modern furniture is now very desirable for vintage design collectors too.
